Biographies

Rebecca Salzer has performed with The London Dance Collective, The New York Baroque Dance Company, Mae Chesney, Robert Moses, and TRANSIT. She holds a BA in Humanities from Yale University. In addition to her choreography for RSDT, Ms. Salzer has collaborated with a number of Bay Area theater companies including Crowded Fire, Everyman, Aggro Theater, and Shotgun. She is a member of the faculty of the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center in Berkeley.

Katherine Davis landed in the Bay Area with a BA in Dance from Scripps College and a Teaching Certification in The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning from Performing Arts Physical Therapy/The Pilates Studio, NYC. Her choreography has been presented by The Vision Series, Applied Ballet Arts Foundation, Marin&Mac226;s 21st Century Dance Collaboration, Dancer&Mac226;s Group Studio Theater, Dance Mission, ODC Theater&Mac226;s PILOT Series, Santa Cruz Dance Gallery, and Works in the Works.

M. Koob studied Wigman technique under Hellmut Gottschild at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has toured the US and Europe with ZeroMoving Dance Company, Dance Construction Company, and Melanie Stewart Dance. Locally, Koob has performed and choreographed for Six Thumbs Dance Theatre, and has danced for several independent choreographers. Koob is the director of TRANSIT, founder of The Benefit Project, and presents work on both coasts. He is currently an Artist in Residence with the San Francisco Arts Education Project.

Juan Carlos Muñoz, a native of Ecuador, moved to San Francisco in 1995 to study dance. His training includes modern dance with Lizz Roman and Kathleen Hermsdorf. Recently, he has begun investigating the ballet world with Kathy Mata.

Joseph Pikalek graduated with a BFA in dance from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in May of 1999 and has been dancing professionally in Milwaukee and Monterey for the past four years.

Cynthia Rodriguez graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Dramatic Art-Dance and Psychology. Prior to dancing in the Bay Area, Cynthia studied jazz, tap, and gymnastics. She now studies at the San Francisco Dance Center and Alice Arts. Since graduation she has performed with Calico Dance Col, Jenice Acosta, Kendra Kimbrough Dance Ensemble, and Sophie Gorman.

Deanna Ross is a dancer, choreographer, and jewelry-maker. She has studied locally at Academy of Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet School, and abroad at the London Contemporary School of Dance, North Carolina School of the Arts, The HARID Conservatory in Boca Raton and with Bill T. Jones and Mark Morris at workshops in Saratoga Springs, New York. She credits her inspiration to her first teacher, Antonio Mendes, and hopes to coach dancers herself someday. She has spent the last five years in Monterey where she has choreographed When I Was Young, the Trees; HIV Trilogy (work-in-progress); Wanting Memories; Phenomenal Woman; and The Surrender.

Ami Student recently moved to the Bay Area from the East Coast, where he completed a BA in Dance/Psychology at Wesleyan University. Beyond his performance and choreography at Wesleyan, Ami has studied at the Alvin Ailey School and the Gus Giordano School in Chicago.

Aimée Thomas-Goodrich is originally from Baltimore, where she performed with Phoenix Repertory Company. She holds a BA from the University of Maryland, and an MFA in Performance and Choreography from Mills College, where her graduate choreographic thesis has been performed by the Mills Repertory Dance Company. Ms. Thomas-Goodrich has also danced with Megan Nicely, Dana Brewer, and Linda Daniel.

Frances Ward White has danced in TV, film, and theater, and has enjoyed working with many artists – including Kate Foley, Clare Whistler, Duncan Macfarland, and Gail Chodera.

Janet Weeks has danced in New York, London, and San Francisco. In New York she studied at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio while performing with Dyane Neiman Dancers and the Omega Liturgical Dance Company. Since moving to the Bay Area she has danced with RSDT, Metamorph Dance, Omega West Dance Company, and has choreographed and performed her own work. When not dancing, Janet writes for various magazines, including California Lawyer and Parenting, and is an editor at Dance Magazine.
